PRO Management’s Team
For well over 20 years, Darren has worked in diverse areas of tourism ranging from double-decker bus driving in London, tour guiding through Africa, Asia and Cape York right through to holiday park and resort management. After developing his own company, Darren was drawn into training. Qualifications delivered include Tourism Cert’s III, IV and Diploma. Acknowledging his passion for training and the industry, Darren was elected as a board member for Caravan Parks Association of Qld and to the training committee for CRVA. Successfully operating a tourism management business for 10 years, the next challenge for PRO Management is increasing the portfolio of parks under management and further developing the training department.
Holiday Park Work History
Employment in Australia for Darren began in Airlie Beach, NQ, casually working for two years in parks, resorts and a brief stint as tour guide before being transferred to Surfers Paradise to manage a strata titled high rise. This move soon led to full time park employment as manager of Forest Glen Holiday Resort for approximately 7 years. Moving from grounds and maintenance manager to overall park manager saw a diversity in roles from grounds work, pool maintenance and infrastructure installation to staff management, marketing and manufactured homes sales and resident liaison – all giving a wide ranging background to the holiday parks’ industry.
After sale of this park, part ownership and management of Snowline Holiday Park in Jindabyne, NSW was next on the agenda and a mammoth 14 month period ensued. Cabin installation, park reorganisation (movement of casual vans) and dealing with lessees of numerous retail outlets. Purchase of the fuel sale outlet, leasing of the restaurant and even filming of a movie before eventual sale of the park. A move back to QLD for Darren and a shift to state manager for Beston Holiday Parks (Discovery) overseeing a portfolio of 11 parks before Darren took the large step of setting up PRO Management as a relief and staff management company. The final move for Darren and PRO Management has been towards staff training, introduction of new staff to the industry and the successful application to become RTO compliant.
With Natalie at the helm, the ‘North QLD Branch’ is in good hands and home to many ‘staff meetings’, social functions and planning meetings in Far North Queensland. With a background in office administration, Natalie’s greatest experience lies in the setup and long term operation of a family business in Holiday Parks.
BIG4 Port Douglas Glengarry Holiday Park was developed and subsequently operated by the Berzinski family since January 1990 for 21 years. Natalie and her husband were onsite managers for 18 years, overseeing all aspects of the park’s operating, administration and marketing departments right through to the eventual sale of the property.
Natalie’s admin background and commitment to excellence has stood PRO in good stead with aligning the business to a training environment. Procedures, regulations and standards have to be strictly adhered to in an RTO operation and Natalie is able to handle the rigours of regulation meticulously. An eye for detail and the ability to word documents precisely and professionally was instrumental in gaining RTO compliance. From resource development, admin procedures and the ability to judge peoples specific requirements Natalie has kept PRO up to date with the ever changing VET landscape and requirements needed for the successful setup and operation of the RTO operations.
